Nickel, the preferred plate material in 'long life' industrial tubes,
offers several important advantages over common iron-based anode metals.
First, Nickel has low magnetic permeability, thus avoiding interference by
leakage from magnetic fields commonly found in the tube audio amplifiers.
The manufacturer claims that lessened susceptible to the effects of
magnetic interference, common with iron anodes but virtually eliminated
with nickel anodes, offers a purer sound. Second, the purity of nickel is
much greater than that of iron based anode materials, offering more
